Normacol is an effective treatment for constipation, containing plant gum from the Karaya tree. These sachets work by increasing the bulk of intestinal contents, aiding in the natural expulsion of waste. The natural fibers in these sachets are dietary, as they are not absorbed or digested but cause swelling and increase in size when mixed with liquids, enhancing stool volume for easier passage. Effects typically begin within 12 hours of ingestion.
Dosage Instructions
Mix the granules with water and drink immediately once or twice daily after meals. It is crucial to drink plenty of water with it, and you can mix the granules and drink water afterward.
Use in Case of Constipation
Normacol is suitable for regular constipation, constipation during pregnancy, or after bowel surgery. It is also beneficial for cases of colitis, hemorrhoids, and anal inflammation.
Warnings for Use
Take the medication after meals and drink plenty of water afterward. Avoid crushing or chewing the granules, and do not take the medication before bedtime. If symptoms do not improve within 4 days, consult a doctor.
Contraindications
Not recommended for children under 6 years, bowel obstruction, or muscle weakness in the intestines. It is safe for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
