Introduction:
Hymox is a medication that contains 250 mg of Amoxicillin, an effective antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial infections in different parts of the body.
Uses:
Amoxicillin is used to treat infections in the upper and lower respiratory tracts, and it is also effective in treating urinary tract infections. The usual dose for treating bacterial infections is 750 mg per day, divided into three doses (one capsule of 250 mg three times a day). In cases of severe infections, the dose can be increased to 500 mg three times a day.
Special Doses:
- Urinary tract infections: Two doses of 3 grams (6 capsules of 500 mg) twice daily.
- Sexually transmitted infections: A single dose of 3 grams.
- For the prevention of dental infections: A single dose of 3 grams before a dental procedure, followed by another dose of 3 grams after 6 hours if necessary.
- Dental abscess: Two doses of 3 grams (6 capsules of 500 mg) with an 8-hour interval between each dose.
Warnings:
Hymox should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to Amoxicillin.
The package contains 20 capsules.
